Chaparral Man, 33, Booked on Aggravated Battery and Property Damage Counts

Allegedly... Arturo Aguilar, 33, of Chaparral was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Nov. 22, 2025, under booking number 2500009501. The jail roster lists four charges: felony aggravated battery that may cause death or great bodily harm, felony criminal damage to property valued at more than $1,000, a felony court commitment and a misdemeanor court commitment. The battery and property damage counts were logged at 317 E. Lisa, and no bond was set on any of the charges at intake. The two court commitment entries list the detention center address on Copper Loop as the arrest location, a pattern typical of inmates served with warrants while already in custody. Under New Mexico law, aggravated battery that may cause great bodily harm is a third-degree felony, and felony criminal damage to property requires damage exceeding $1,000. No charging document, court filing or news coverage identifying a victim, describing the circumstances or otherwise matching Aguilar's name and age was located in publicly available court records reviewed for this report.
