Las Cruces Man, 52, Booked on Domestic Violence and Assault Charges

Allegedly... Chris Joe Apodaca, a 52-year-old resident of Las Cruces, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Oct. 22, 2025. He faces multiple felony charges including aggravated battery against a household member causing great bodily harm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Apodaca was also booked for failure to comply with conditions of release and is currently being held without bond following his arrest at an apartment on East University Avenue. According to news reports, the charges stem from a domestic dispute where Apodaca is accused of choking a woman and threatening her with a knife.
