Las Cruces Man, 25, Booked on Domestic Battery and Probation Violation Charges

Allegedly... Elijah Tion Venable, a 25-year-old resident of Las Cruces, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Dec. 19, 2025. Records show he faces a misdemeanor charge of battery against a household member and two felony counts of probation violation. Venable is currently being held without bond following his arrest at a residence on Calle de Alegra. According to news reports and court documents, Venable was previously arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance where he was accused of pointing a firearm at his girlfriend and striking her while she held their child. Additional police records from early 2025 indicate he was also charged with tampering with evidence related to a high-level felony and a separate warrant. The charges are allegations, and Venable is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
