Santa Clara Man, 38, Booked on Felony Charge Following Dui Conviction

Gabriel Lucero, 38, of Santa Clara, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Dec. 23, 2025. Records indicate he was processed under booking number 2500010259 for a felony count listed as all other offenses. The arrest was recorded at 1850 Copper Loop, and the booking record currently lists no bond. According to a New Mexico appellate opinion, Lucero was found guilty of driving while under the influence. The appellate court reviewed the case and affirmed the district court’s original judgment. Additionally, news reports from Las Cruces have previously identified a man of the same name and age in connection with a voluntary manslaughter charge following a fatal shooting at Whiskey Dicks bar. Court and news records indicate Lucero was convicted in this case.
