Allegedly... Isaias Davis Jose, 27, listed by jail staff as a resident of Mexico, was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo County on Feb. 12, 2026, jail records show. He was logged in through a federal transfer and held without bond on a charge the facility categorized as a felony other-offense. Federal records indicate Jose and co-defendant Tomas Mateo Gaspar were charged in 2025 in connection with an Albuquerque stash house where 11 undocumented immigrants were found during a March 2, 2025 FBI search warrant, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico and KRQE. Prosecutors said the investigation began a day earlier when a person told the FBI their spouse had been kidnapped and held for ransom. Both men later pleaded guilty to conspiring to transport and harbor undocumented immigrants, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. News reports indicate Jose was sentenced to 22 months in federal prison on Feb. 3, with Gaspar receiving 18 months, suggesting the Feb. 12 booking reflects a post-sentencing transfer through the Bernalillo County jail. Federal officials said victims described being locked in rooms and threatened with violence. Charges reflect the original allegations; Jose pleaded guilty and was sentenced, and all remaining proceedings are resolved through the federal court process. Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
