Hobbs Man, 55, Booked on Felony Charge Following Arrest in Arizona

Allegedly... Poetry Lee Royal, a 55-year-old resident of Hobbs, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Oct. 14, 2026. Registered under booking number 2600008238, he faces a felony charge categorized as all other offenses. Records indicate that Royal was taken into custody in Arizona and is currently being held without bond. The charge of all other offenses is a broad classification used by law enforcement to document felony-level violations that do not fall under specific standard categories. Because the arrest occurred in Arizona, the booking in Doña Ana County typically suggests a jurisdictional transfer or an outstanding warrant requiring his return to New Mexico. The specific nature of the underlying incident remains part of the non-public investigative record. The charges are allegations, and Poetry Lee Royal is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
