Mescalero Man, 28, Booked on Felony Charge Following Reported Assault

Allegedly... Raymond Shaun Chee, 28, of Mescalero, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Aug. 17, 2026. Chee was taken into custody at 1595 W. Picacho Ave. and faces a felony charge listed as all other offenses. He is currently being held without bond under booking number 2600006610. According to Department of Justice records and news reports, Chee was charged in connection with an assault that occurred on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation in 2025. The case involves another Mescalero resident and has been subject to federal legal proceedings following the initial incident.
