Carlsbad Man, 38, Booked on Felony Charge Following Armed Robbery Investigation

Allegedly... Sam Chavez, a 38-year-old resident of Carlsbad, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Aug. 21, 2025. Chavez was processed under booking number 2500007031 on a felony charge categorized as all other offenses following a transfer from the Cibola County Detention Center. He is currently being held without a set bond. According to news reports, Carlsbad police identified Chavez as a person of interest in an armed robbery and the theft of a minibike from a local residence. Investigators sought Chavez for several months in connection with the armed theft, during which time he remained at large.
