Allegedly... Veronica Levario, 40, of Las Cruces, was booked at the Doña Ana County Detention Center on July 14, 2025, on a felony count recorded as "All Other Offenses," with the arrest location listed as "FED Transfer." No bond was set.
Levario was one of 14 people federally charged in November 2024 in what U.S. Attorney’s Office, DEA and Homeland Security Investigations officials described as a drug trafficking conspiracy distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Las Cruces and Anthony areas, according to reporting by KRQE, the Las Cruces Bulletin and KFOX-TV. Federal officials said an 18-month investigation involving the DEA, HSI, the U.S. Marshals Service, Las Cruces police and the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office led to the indictments. A DEA news release said that on April 4, 2024, Levario and a co-defendant were stopped while allegedly delivering fentanyl pills, and that agents seized 202 fentanyl pills and about 30.9 grams of methamphetamine from her purse.
Published reports said Levario faces a statutory minimum of 10 years in federal prison and a maximum of life if convicted of the trafficking count. The July 2025 booking under a federal-transfer designation appears consistent with continued detention in that case.
The charges are allegations. Levario is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
