Sunland Park Man, 62, Booked on Court Commitments Following Fatal Crash

Allegedly... Vicente Vasquez, 62, of Sunland Park, was booked into the Doña Ana County Detention Center on Sept. 11, 2025. Records indicate he was taken into custody at 201 W. Picacho Ave. and is currently held without bond under booking number 2500007616. He faces two felony court commitment charges. According to news reports, Vasquez was previously charged with homicide by vehicle following a July 3, 2025, hit-and-run that resulted in the death of pedestrian Graciela Sahs. While out on bond for the vehicular homicide case, court and news records show he was re-arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, prompting the district attorney to address his status as a repeat offender. The charges are allegations, and Vasquez is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
